Syrian army fires on Turkish positions in al-Bab, injuries reported

The Syrian army launched rocket attacks on Turkish army positions around the city of al-Bab in northern Syria early Thursday morning according to reports.

Kom News local sources say the Syrian army launched attacks on Turkish army and Free Syrian Army positions on Sheikh Aqeel hill in al-Bab.

Many Turkish soldiers and FSA members were injured and have been carried in ambulances to the Turkey border.

Turkish media reported the capture of part of Sheikh Aqeel hill from the Islamic State (IS) group on Wednesday night.

Reports in Turkish media appeared to clarify unusual activity in the region with Turkish Chief of General Staff Hulusi Akar participating in an extraordinary meeting this morning.
