64% of books sold in Turkey bought by women

The online bookstore D&R has released the results of a survey it did on reading trends in Turkey to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March.

According to the survey which was conducted in 153 stores across Turkey, 64% of all books sold in the country are bought by women, almost doubling the number of men buying books.

Women in Turkey are mainly reading novels, with child development and health books also proving popular with readers, according to the survey that also showed the 38-43 age range buying books the most.
